Default Jeep takes awhile to start

My 92 seems to crankba little longer than it should. Maybe i am looking to far into it but is this common? Id say it cranks 5 to 10 seconds and.sometimes it fires right up

Then if that doesn't work, check out your fuel pump and check valve

A tuneup for your 92 would consist of the following. Plenty of time to ponder more complex possibilities after the basics have been addressed.

1. Fresh Champion copper plugs gapped to .035

2. New quality plug wires

3. New distributor cap and rotor (I prefer brass contacts, not aluminum; NAPA premium ignition parts fit this description)

4. New fuel filter

5. Bottle of quality fuel injector cleaner in about 3/4 of a tank of gas. I like Techron. This can help optimize the spray pattern of your fuel injectors

6. Freshen ALL engine grounds. Often ignored, easy to do. You must disassemble, clean and reassemble. Can't tell much by looking at them.

7. Check/replace your air filter. Not going to cause extended crank time, but toss in a new one once in a while
