Jeep stalls at lights and doesn't like to start back up
This has happened to me once before but it happened twice today and that worries me. I have a 99 xj with the 4.0 and AW4
Here's what happens.
On a cold engine my Jeep starts just fine, but before going more than a mile, at idle, (waiting to exit a neighborhood or the like) when I hit the gas to take off, the jeeps stalls and dies. Immediately after, I try to restart it. When I try, the engine turns over but will not catch. At this point it shows good oil pressure. Then, after about 5 min of trying to start while pumping the gas, it eventually starts and then acts normal. The whole time I'm trying to start it, it smells like gasoline
I have also gotten a rough cold idle (when the engine is not warmed up and its typically cold outside), and when the motor is cold the oil pressure goes up almost to the full 80psi during part throttle.
From searching it seems that this could be a bad CPS, but I don't know if my symptoms suggest otherwise so I asked. Any advice would be appreciated.
**edit it also seems that when it stalls, its idling on a hill but I'm not 100% on that

Shoot. My bad guys. I replaced the TPS like you said and shes good now. Still have a little bit of a rough idle before she warms up but the main issues were resolved.
