For "*******", "Itchies" and "Cooties"
Connect the dots
No reason to show the other arm
As a side note, bed bugs have absolutely nothing to do with clean or dirty. And these menace prefer human blood. Tend to leave animals alone unless no choice cuz no person is available

Thanks Cruiser for the Amazon link. I used Off and it did work 2 days ago. Dummy me forgot to use it since.

I travel a little for work. After a couple of bed bug incidents (both at nice hotels) I've learned to be very cautious & careful. My big fear is bringing them home. The more research you do, the scarier it gets.
Good luck with your efforts to eradicate!

Yes, always lift the hotel mattress and sheets for inspection upon arrival.
The best / only way to kill them in the vehicle is HEAT. Park the Jeep somewhere hot and let it cook in the sun.

I have a Cherokee and also worked many years in pest control for Orkin treating bed bug issues. Sounds to me like you have a phobia towards them. To the point that it is clouding your judgement. Pesticide label rates are law and you risk the health of anyone riding in your Jeep when you disregard label application rates. I do not believe Malathion is even labeled for Bed Bugs. It is an agriculture pesticide. There are only two or three insecticide products labeled for Bed Bugs that actually work well that have a residual. Forget using heat in your jeep. No need to tear your jeep apart either.

He should have taken out the seats & carpet & trim. Too many places for them to hide. I can't imagine that heat won't do some damage to the interior .... wires, dash, headliner. Just strip the damn thing, treat each piece & the shell individually and spray the crap out of it ... with the proper chems.
As for me, I am so terrified of bedbugs that I'd push it off a cliff, collect the insurance money (if any) and call it a day. Damn!

Hiya,
Not my deliberate intention to be a d*** here but....
Are you absolutely certain they are indeed bedbugs. From nearby city's informational website:
Bed bugs are small oval shaped insects. They do not fly; they crawl and attach themselves to surfaces such as clothing, furniture and luggage. They are attracted to the carbon dioxide that we exhale and can affect anyone at any time.
Key point, they do not fly. Only crawl. You stated you were bitten on the arms in the short time you accessed the hatch area. Bedbugs would not have had time to reach you. My experiences as a landlord suggest these facts to be accurate.
I humbly submit that these are indeed a type of flea. We had a rental house infested with this particular type of flea which seemingly preferred human blood over animal. We mothballed the house for a year. No chemicals. They starved to death.
There is my .02
Flame on.

Oh yes, They ARE bed bugs. Got rid of them in the house. Came from luggage that went into a bedroom. They made their way to the next room, on a very comfy couch that of course, fell asleep in often.
The couch, the secondary couch (loveseat?) and the chair are gone, trashed. Stopped them in that living room. And every weekend, spraying, running my high heat gun at the room edges, corners.
And then confirmed the bugs when I got bitten badly in Jeep. Found the creatures on the bath towel I put over the seat. Also on the pants I wore. Found the flat shells they discard after feeding and growing. Then the telltale of all WAS:::
When I sprayed Malathion, next morning I saw some brown in the back seat which is grey. Oh sh*t its staining the seat.
Wipe my hand across to dust it off. It spread kind of liquidy, turned brownish red. . Realized it was blood- OMG, my blood. Malathion did kill them or they drowned or whatever. And they died and bled MY BLOOD.
Saw the bugs , whats hard to see are the eggs. Which hatch every 6 to 12 days. Until they feed, smaller than a grain of salt. And clear. Change and grow after the buffet. Just f'n great. I'm sure I'm killing the adults. But the eggs keep hatching. Kill these adult pests only by direct contact. but the eggs can survive the poison.
Exterminators say Heat is the best for destroying the eggs
So BBQ bedbug coming up. Got the torpedo heater from machinist friend, bought ducting from Home Depot. Getting diesel fuel now, Might do tonight at work.
Love the dot connect. Maybe after all done, I'll tattoo it. NOT. Rather forget about them.

Great, Now how do I get rid of the hobo
===============
Update on the bed bug BBQ.
Set up the torpedo heater. working. Ran for 2 hours but did not sure if got all areas I wanted to be sure. Going for round 2 tonight.
My first set up didn't work, but looked beautiful ! Can't hook up directly to the heater. Flame sensors and I'm sure some sort of pressure sensor shuts it off. Starts, then 10 seconds later, Shuts down for safety.
First setup.
Inside
Duct exit
My inside ductwork assembled
But didn't work.
Next attempt , no direct connect. Just directed the heat.
Didn't connect, just shot at back and direct heat
View of the 3 ducts
All worked well. I later moved closer to the back, Got up to 160F in front seat. Constantly monitored
And just in case !
