Default Jeep Randomly wants to die while driving and at idle

I have a 99 jeep Cherokee 4.0 6cyl 180ish thousand miles, auto that bogs down while driving and at idle randomly to the point where if i give it gas it does nothing, but when i shut it off and turn it back on it runs fine.I'm at a loss on what the issue is, no check engine light is on and my check engine light does work. Ive replaced the Tps (cel came on for it last year) plugs and wires and I'm 99.9% sure i don't have a vacuum leak. Could it be the cps? any help would be appreciated as I'm not very mechanically inclined.
Thanks

Sounds similar to when my CPS went. I would get fluctuating Idle at stop lights, but I could shift to neutral at a light and give it a little extra gas to keep it going. If I recall I also got a CEL when it was acting up. I would rule out fuel related issue first, but yeah, it "could" be your CPS starting to go.

Could be the Coolant Temp Sensor. Mine failed and it felt like the engine was dying. Wouldn't idle, kept stalling, had to power brake to keep the engine running at a stop.

Mine did this when the O2 sensor got caught up in the driveshaft. Check that, then check your fuses under the hood.

OP, to answer your (original) question: yes, it could be the CPS.

I am pretty sure they are the same. If getting it from the dealership, give them your VIN # and they can use that to pull exact parts for you. I know when I worked at the dealer, we always used the last 8 of the VIN to put in our parts requests.
