I have only one word for you on that mudd "DOGS". They can smell a roach under six feet of cow manure.
I have a customer with an '00 sport complaining of the same thing. We told him to try the Lysol thing, and I found all the coolant pipes were rusting through and the aluminum t-stat housing and H2O pump was corroded and hoses were OE and leaking. I don't think that contributed to the prob in the cabin, but what a coincidence. Isn't that how legionnares disease came about with themoldy vents in buildings.LOL

Well the lysol thing didn't work too well. I drove it to the PO (5 miles) with the heater on low and got really sick by the time i got home. I had this strange taste in my mouth afterwards. Now i got this major headache and feel like i had 3 beers in 20 seconds. My jeep is attempting to assassinate me.......

Maybe replace all of your coolant. Think the heater core is leaking coolant (sweet smell) or is your stuff just moldy?
Either way, take the dash apart and clean the hell out of those vents for starters (i'd say)

Try a pump up pressure tester on the radiator cap. If you can borrow one. pump up untill close to the max pressure. let it sit watch for leaks and pressure drop/ may pin point a small leak and keep dumping the lysol to it in the air intake vents good luck.
