Hello all. I have a 98 grand cherokee,4.0 auto, with air. Intermittently, usually when coming to a stop or start the engine stalls or almost dies. It seems like its running out of gas but will just as suddenly run normally. Took it to the shop and got an idle air motor, but a few days later it did it again. No codes logged per the mechanic. I have noticed that my fuel gauge will bounce back and forth from empty to whatever fuel level is in the tank. It also does this on a sporadic basis. Days will go by with the gauge acting normally, then it goes wacky. Days will go by without a stalling episode then one will happen. Could the electrical connection at the gas tank be bad? Anyone else have this happen? Thanks for any input.
