Default jeep didn't start

At work tonight my XJ wouldn't start. It cranked slow and tried. Last week when it rained hard, my windsheild leaked all over the fuse block. I think I left interior lights on all night. Well I installed a new windsheild, and have no leaks. It rained on the way to work this morning, and stopped about 10:00. Tonight at 7:00 had to jump it, and had to give it gas, then it would not idle at first. I checked the battery when I got home. It has one dead cell, and is 11 years old. Do y'all think maybe the PCM got confused because if the batttery condition? It did this once last year in the summer, it would only start after I gave it gas, then wouldn't idle also.

With a dead cell and 11 years, I'd say that battery is ready for replacement.

I have been charging it every night at 2amps. I will do a voltage drop test, and replace the battery. Funny that this no start happen last week, and this week when it rained. Battery is probably shot.

Battery is almost assuredly shot. And a marginal battery will absolutely give you the symptoms you describe.

As all electrical life starts with the battery, replace it immediately.

Well I replaced the battery, and checked for drain at the part store. When I first turn the key off, it had a 1 1/2 amp drain. I started pulling fuses out of the power block under the hood. I pulled them one at a time, and put them back in. I had done all of them, and was going to start pulling fuses under the dash when the draw went away by itself. Right now it is at the neighborhood garage getting checked out, and new inspection stickers for the new windsheild. I hope Tom cam find the problem, because it is not raining today.
