For changing a steering wheel, Does all I need is a Steering wheel puller?
And does anyone have a 98-01 Jeep Cherokee Steering wheel parts?
I'll let you know what I need when someone has one.

The steering wheel I bought you can take it off with a puller, I just unscrewed the Airbag at the JY but I didn't have a puller and was able to take the nut off. but now I need some parts for it but the JY got rid of all there cherokees there. I guess theres a law to crush the clunkers by a certin time, Because they crushed 2 very good, filled with parts Black 2000 Jeep Cherokees and 2 Forest Green Cherokees.
Makes me sad to see all those good parts get crushed. had the bumpers on them like new. really the entire bodies was like new with the tires removed.

I believe that the air bag is attached to the rubber cover on the steering wheel, where it says jeep. There might be a screw or two connecting it to the column.
The next time you go to the jy look around. You will find one with it removed. At least all the ones I've seen removed are connected to the inside of the steering wheel cover so it won't be in your way.

I was hoping this thread would be about removing the air bag steering wheel and installing some radically cool looking steering wheel !!!
Clunkers from " cash for clunkers " never made it to the JY for picking. They were marked and sent directly to the ' for crushing ' section of the yard. There they got loaded onto trailers and take to the crusher.
Why did those two Cherokees disappear? Most likely because they were there too long.
Down here Crazy Ray's is like a chain of Junk Yards and the remove vehicles for crushing after they have been in the yard for a certain time period. I am restoring a 96, 2 door, 5 speed and was pulling parts from one in the yard that was junked for a blown motor. I was pulling interior parts and got all I could carry. Went back the next morning and it was GONE!

The law only stated that the "clunkers" had to be disposed of by a certain time. Your local jy may have sent them directly to the crusher, but most were placed on jy lots for picking. As long as the engines were rendered inopperable at the dealer, then the rest was available for parts resale. The junkyards here painted all of the engines with orange paint so they would know which parts were not available for sale.
