Default Jeep Cherokee Smoke coming out of oil cap

If I take off the oil cap I can see some smoke coming out of the oil filler hole not a lot just a bit very faint. Are the piston rings worn out? Also I doubt this is related in any way but I pulled into a parking spot earlier and then tried to start my Jeep but it wouldn't do anything, I figured the battery was dead and jumped it off my friends Dodge and it started fine, charged and everything however my gauge is reading really close to the red line for voltage I'm thinking this is just a problem with the alternator and not related anything to oil, correct? Seeing as how oil and the electrical system aren't related haha. Also I feel like I just forgot to screw the oil cap on tight enough but when I popped the hood it was gone but I later found it stuck between a hose and the engine block (thank god) that's the only reason I thought they may have been related but I think I probably forgot to tighten it.

Just about any 4 stroke internal combustion engine will have a faint amount of smoke under the valve cover. Most auto parts stores can do a alternator/battery test.

If your CCV system is obstructed you'll have vapors escaping elsewhere.
