Welp... i finally narrowed all possible leaks to the mother leak. I used some UV dye to try a pinpoint a pretty big oil leak i have and its definitely the RMS. Anyone have any tips on making the replacement job easier? I am really not looking forward to it...

I have a pretty bad rear main leak as well. Plan to swap it when I need my oil changed (about 1000 miles). Should be pretty straight forward. Some tips I found when I looked it up are as follows.
1. If possible let it sit without runnjng for ad long as possible so when you pull the oil pan ( after draining it of course) you have as little oil as possible dripping from everything.
2. Apparently fel-pro makes a pan gasket that has plastic pins that hold the seal in place so it's easier to line up when the time comes to put it back together.
3. Make sure you have everything you need. This should be self explanatory but we all do it. Oil, seals, torque wrench for the bearing cap, and so on.
4. Take your time. No need to scratch stuff because you were in a hurry, or forget to properly torque the bearing cap because you forgot.
Good luck!

Nothing much is going to make it easier. There are plenty of write ups and videos available. Just take your time, remember where every bolt goes, and torque to spec. Some people will buy two seals just in case they damage one during installation.

I went through 2 seals when I did mine the first time. First one was actually for a 99 and its shaped differently than those for a 2000. So if you go to a place like Advance Auto double check that they gave you the correct one since I see that you have a 2000. Definitely something I wouldn't want to do again. I replaced mine when I replaced my oil pan and gasket. Figured since I had all that off might as well replace it while I was in there. DO NOT over torque the bearing caps though. Crack one of those and you're up shizer creek. I used a little bit of dish soap to get the upper half around the top of the cranks shaft. Don't try and reuse your old oil pan gasket either, cheap insurance is to just buy a new one.
