Fuel leak after sitting then no fuel leak?

Fuel leak after sitting then no fuel leak?
My poor 95 XJ has been sitting for about a month since I last started it. I cranked it up and I smell fuel, fuel leaking from somewhere above the tank, fuel dripping from the fuel tank shroud. Sat for another few days and i start it up and no fuel leak ??? Is there some kinda vent or something that could have caused this?
