Issues while replacing my stereo
Got some work in yesterday, and I did discover that there are in fact wires leading from the factory head unit for rear speakers... so I would think they continue and are just hiding somewhere. Going to look around near the ceiling as blacksport suggested.
Learned to solder last night as I didn't feel like buying an adapter for the new stereo... interesting stuff.

My jeep does not have anything runing to the rear doors...not even a dome light switch. THere isn't even a wire boot running from the cab to the door. As far as the wires at the head, I don't know. It has been a couple years since I replaced it and I can't remember.

Its alright, i just checked today and there isnt even a spot for speakers in the doors, there just covered in plastic
Alright. So the stereo and front two speakers are all installed and good to go. I was unable to find wires for the rear speakers in the trim or anywhere really. It is weird since there are wires coming out of the stereo that claim to be for rear speakers, but then don't reappear towards the back. I figure I could tear apart my car trying to trace them from the dash, or just wire some in myself.
I think the second option would be overall an easier task...I was thinking I would just solder the ends of the wires to rca jacks and plug them into the back of my stereo that way. I am just curious if anyone has any suggestion as to the path of least resistance to run the wires. I was thinking trim along the ceiling as it seems fairly easy to remove and straight forward, though I'm not totally sure how to move the wires from the trim to the hatch, or trim to dash. Any words of wisdom out there?
