will 35s fit with a 4.5 inch lift and some fender trimming

A lot of guys are running 35"'s on 4.5 and even a couple are running 35"'s on 3.5" lift. I think it looks good, what I don't like is keeping your stock tire openings and lift the hell out of it to get bigger tires. Big rubber on a low lift will keep you center of gravity lower too, not to mention its easier on steering components, driveline, and makes it behave better on the road. If your curious to see how it looks, use googles image search. You can also look in the fab or write up section to see what options you have and how involved it will get. The common option is called a "tuck and fold", which require no welding, just and angle grinder and a hammer. I went for a full "tub out", which I have step by step directions in the write-up section. This is about all you can get out of an XJ using the stock inner fenders:

with the proper amt. of trimming and bumpstopping youll be fine...might lose alot of uptravel though
