Issues with new Clutch Slave
Hey guys, so I had a external clutch slave cylinder on my '86 2.1 diesel cherokee (AX5 tranny I believe) Bought a new one at autozone, installed it and bled the system. However the clutch is still not engaging. Any thoughts as to why? I have never swapped one out before but it seemed like a really simple procedure and I dont think I ballsed anything up. I am open to suggestions. Thanks for reading!
I had the same problem, I replaced the line on my 86 cherokee chief and bled the system for a good 25 minutes and I still have nothing...
I recently bought a 86 cherokee chief and when I was driving it home I blew a clutch line, I pulled the slave out to get the old line off and replace it, now it's back together yet there is still no pedal...I have bleed it for about 25 min...please help me!!!
Is the post on the slave cylinder supposed to sticking out?
I have an 86 cherokee chief, 5 speed, I'm trying to replace the slave cylinder which is outside the tranny, but I can't seem to line the slave up to the fork...is there a certain way I'm supposed to go about doing so?
2.5
I see, but how do I like it up from the outside?
The slave cylinder I have doesn't have a strap on it...
I can feel the fork with my finger, yes, I bled the system numerous times already. The slave cylinder and master cylinder I bought have bleeders on them...I just can't like the post on the slave up to the fork...
By the bleeder on the slaver...one person opens it and one person pushes down the pedal...

Are you able to feel the fork with your finger? And do you have a way to bleed the system if you aren't using a pre-bled one? I know mine isn't technically supposed to be bled and you replace the master and slave cylinder together. You don't necessarily need that plastic piece... just make sure it feels good once you push the clutch in. If it doesn't you'll have to find a way to bleed it.

Figured out what the problem is, the braintrust at Autozone sold me the wrong part. I compared the old one to the new one the the new ones rod is about an inch shorter than the old one. Now I have to figure out where I can get a proper one as I was already running short one car at the moment. Any suggestions?
