Issues with mounting items to radiator:
I have developed a coolant system leak due to the zip cords that you can out through the radiator to hold things such as trans coolers, and aux. fans on. What are the options out there, I'd like some different ideas to mount this stuff, because now I doubt the zip cord method. I'd hate to be stuck in the middle of BFE with a leaky rad due to these things!! Pics would be a HUGE help!!

As I was removing the assys, I noticed that the fan was loose. It came with little pieces of foam, but I'm thinking that they were not thick enough!! IDK what my other options are, other than fabbing brackets, which I'm not super thrilled about!! LOL!!

I have used those zipcords before and never had any probs. Just make sure that the accessory is snugly up against the radiator and everything is tight and not rattling around.
sounds to me like your rad was on its last legs anyways and the zipcords just finished it off a bit quicker.

On one of the veins that one of the zip cords came in contact with. As I stated the fan was loose, and I think that I will find a better foam to install between the assy, and the rad.

Well after hearing this I was going to replace my rad anyway but I think I will eliminate the zip ties and build brackets for the trans cooler now. I have a B&M cooler which came with the zips and those rubber pads.
Has anyone used an A/C condenser as a trans cooler. That would be a lot of extra fluid and a much greater surface area for cooling.

You chose the deadliest zip cords ever!
And regarding the A/C condensor to use as a tranny cooler, Im upto it, (ALMOST), Just need time to get into that ****! I hope that would turn out be a good idea.

What makes the zip cords deadly??
Got to thinking that the condenser is already there in most cases and if the tranny was a stick it could be used as an engine oil cooler on a stick. May increase longevity of our beloved 4.0Ls.
