Default iPod connection to OEM radio

I have a 2000 XJ with the standard factory radio/CD/cassette - whats the easiest way to connect an iPod to this thing, as I guess there is no standard AUX input available.

thanks!

The best option I can think of is to get one of those cigarette lighter radio frequency connectors, plug your ipod into that, then look up the radio frequency on you stock radio and vuala.

It works better than you think, as far as I know that is the only option. Here is a link to make it easier on you. First one that popped up on google I'm sure there are better deals.

Honestly, unless you buy a 100 dollar monster FM modulator they aren't that great... Or at least I haven't had luck with them.

I have better luck with a 9 dollar cassette aux adapter.

Direct connection and you don't have to worry about radio signal. Plus, it don't take up your 12v plug.

If you've got a cassette player, the 1/8" jack on your iPod can connect to a $8 cassette adapter. I get too much interference with radio adapters. My $0.02...

I have an inline radio adapter. you hook it up inline with the antenna input and it has RCA connectors to run an input to it. I have a patch cord with rcas on one end and a headphone jack on the other. If you get one, put a noise filter on it to avoid hearing pops from the spark plugs.

That's also an FM Modulator... It's just an inline modulator. You still have to deal with FM reception.

True, but it is a direct feed, so less of a chance of interference. The only thing that shows is the cord that comes out from under the dash, so there is less clutter.

That's illegal when driving.

Get a Monster cassette adapter from WalMart for $19.99. The cheaper ones don't sound nearly as good.

You can also get it from Amazon or Best Buy, but it costs more.

I bought one of those adapters that plug into the factory harness in the back of the stock radio in my wifes 04 Maxima, ($100 i think) works great. Just hit the CD button twice and it turns on, 4 years NO PROBLEM and charges the Ipod and Iphone too.

But to be honest, Id just upgrade the radio.. for pretty much the same $100
