1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 4.0L, 4x4 AW4
I am sure this topic has be reviewed millions of times, but I'm hoping to get some answers with more of the issues I am having. So Friday my 1999 XJ stalled on my girlfriend and she couldn't get it restarted. I went to her let he drive my KL home and took the XJ to my shop. It ran ok but on occasion would lose RPM and Speed and would begin to stall. Would restart with relative ease and kept trucking along. About a month ago I did replace the Crank Position sensor, I was in a bind so I got one from Advance Auto, seemed ok. Fast forward to now and it is stalling and sometimes refuses to start. Intermittently I will lose fuel gauge and Battery gauge, but would start. Called my guy at advance put another CPS in it and same issue. Pulled codes, p0700 in ecu (transmission fault) pulled trans codes and had P1694, had a few other codes that I did not record because I figured they were due to the stalling and such. Poked around online and found a post from 2013 of a similar issue. Only difference is i am not getting a "No Bus" error on my dash. Began following the diagnostics provided by CCKen. Checked voltages with key on engine off(KOEO) and found on obd pin 3 and 4(and5) 2.3V, pin 11 and 4 (and 5) 2.3v. Disconnected the battery, ohmed out pin 3 and 11 got 59.7 ohm. Checked PCM C3 (gray conenctor) c30 and c28 got 120 ohm. Proceeded to check C28 (C3) and Pin 11 (obd) and got .4 ohm. Checked C30 (C3) and Pin 3 (OBD) and got .4 ohm. Checked C28 (C3) and Pin 6 (Trans control module) .5 ohm. Checked C30 (C3) and Pin 7 (TCM) .5 ohm. With all this information I proceeded to replace the TCM with an unknown good one from a junk yard (came out of a 98 Cherokee), same issue persisted. Drove it Saturday with little issue till I put more gas in it and it about had a fit, stalled 10-15 times on a 30 minute drive home. Sat all day Sunday (raining all day). Went out this morning to drive it to work. 15 minutes and about 20 attempts, would not start, cranked but no start. Still no errors on the dash aside from fuel and voltage gauges inop. Took my KL and went to work, I just got home and have not touched the XJ. Hoping to get some insight from the wonderful folks here. Additional information, I do plan to try and find a OEM CPS when I get paid, they seem to be increasingly more difficult to find as the years go on, also my look into a refurbished TCM online so I know it's a good one. Also my girlfriend stated it seemed to have really acted up when she got gad at Sheetz (we live in PA) and she put their 88 octane in, which after the fact she noticed it said that it should not be used on vehicles older than 2012 I'm assuming due to their ethanol content. Is this just a matter of bad gas or do I have another issue going on? Also last year the previous owner replaced the PCM with a referb due to the gas gauge not reading correctly (would get stuck at different positions but would not actually show the amount of gas in the vehicle.) Thank you for your time and I hope I can get the solved soon.
edit 1: also remembered when i got home Saturday night every time I put it into Reverse it would just shut off. I would have to barely let off the brakes to Reverse and keep it from stalling.
edit 2: also when it was determined last year the PCM was causing the fuel gauge not to operate correctly the customer had the fuel pump replaced thinking that was the issue with the gauge. I worked on the vehicle myself the last 2 years before i bought it in August of this year
edit 3: as of 9:10pm est, no gauge sweep at all on the dash, crank no start, can not confirm spark or fuel at this time. Will be taking some tools home tomorrow from work to do some checks on Wendsday when I am off. Still no dash message of BUS errors

Did a few checks today, unfortunately had less time to look at it than I wanted to have. Still no gauges and no start. disconnected the TCM and tried to start, still nothing. No Can bus errors on the odometer. wiggled the C3 connector at the PCM and still no change, checked fuel pressure (no gauge) and found no pressure in the rail, can not hear the fuel pump priming with key on. read more of the post by Punisher and CCKen (https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/cod...no-bus-166340/) and found more things to check, going to try and do that come Sunday, but with Christmas next week this may be pushed off unfortunately. Going to pull the cluster next and check fuses when I am able and have more light to work.
