Default Intermittent

Alright folks i'm at wits end, today I was driving to work and got less than a mile from home when my Jeep shut down. It would crank and fire for about 2 seconds then shut down. I didn't here the fuel pump come on. When it tow truck got it home, it fired and ran just fine. Last night at Auto-Zone it shut down then, restarted and ran fine. I know TPS can be intermittent but the fuel pump is new, could and electric pump have an intermittent problem. Thank you for any help you can offer.

New puppies die, and so do new fuel pumps at times. Check the fuel pressure when it craps out on you.

Fuel pump issues are typically crank and no start. (although I agree, check your fuel pressure when the Jeep stalls to r/o the fuel pump) I would also check the CPS if you've got the ability and know-how.

I checked the CPS and it checked out 224 Ohms with spec being 125-275 Ohms but they can test OK and still be bad. It's weird that it would just shut down like I turned off the key, I thought if it was the pump it would maybe sputter and loose power them quit. But maybe if the pressure drop below a preset it shuts down the injectors. Thank you for all the help, and any more you have to offer.

If it shuts down again and doesn't start back up try kicking the gas tank and see what that does.

When Crank position sensor (CPS) gos bad it is often heat induced ie when it cools down it starts working again.
When it stops next, try and start, if no start tip a bottle of water down the back of the fire wall where the CPS is. If your Heap restarts I would get a new CPS.

If the Computer is not getting a signal from the CPS it cuts the spark and fuel pump.

Alright guys I THINK I know what it is. I spent a couple minutes today looking at it, I opened the hood started it up, it ran for about 15 seconds and shutdown. I hit the key a couple of times, the fuel pump relay would click on and then off but no pump. Thanks for all the feed back, I appreciate the help.

beware....if fuel pump/filter....make sure you also check out fuel tank, if it's original factory - very specifically, the inside - if it looks good, at least have it boiled - jeep fuel tanks are notorious for erosion from the inside causing havoc on your fuel system!
