Default interior lights and taillights dont work

The dome lights work but after installing a radio on my 89 XJ, the tailights (brake, park, reverse, license plate), dash, cluster stopped working. There are a couple threads about this online however no real answers specially for a renix.

thanks in advance

Disconnect & tape the dimmer wire, then replace the fuse.

When you hook up the dimmer wire for the radio it shorts out (and pops the fuse) for the lights in the Jeep.
So:
1) Disconnect & tape up the dimmer wire you hooked up to your head unit.
2) Locate the burned fuse (passenger kick panel (?), I don't know for sure on the old ones) labeled "brake" & replace it.
