Default Interior door arm rest fix

I took off the passenger side armrest because it was loose and I didn't want to damage it further. Anybody have a fix for this? I'm sure it's a common problem, you can see someone else has already repaired the other screw hole. I'm guessing I can just glue/jb weld the plastic retainer back in place, but figured I'd see what others have done.

I can't say I've read about this breaking before. Maybe the PO knocked into it or something and it's not a common break.

Id give the JB a try. Its quick and easy. Will it last? No clue. Know anyone with a 3D printer? If that part is made of ABS, you can usually fix that using acetone to melt the parts back together. I have only done that on cracks tho, never parts broken completely. If you like fabrication, you could probably make your own part of of sheetmetal (and a welder depending on how you do it), and add a spacer to support that broken screw hole. Glue that broken screw hole back in so the spacer has something to press against. But i would probably go with JB or find a new armrest to make life a little easier. That part doesnt look all that complicated to fabricate, but i know not everyone is into fabrication, or welding. But its an option.

Ive even contemplated making a base out of wood for an armrest once. And reskinning that using the armrest material. Havent tried it yet tho.

I'll try JB, if I get a good amount on it it should be pretty sturdy. Eventually, I'll swap the door panels from my parts Jeep in but for the time being I'd like to repair this.

I keep on coming to this thread trying to see if I could help.
Not even really sure what I am looking at or how this screws on.
Went to Ebay hoping to find the part so I could look at some pictures of what it is supposed to look like.
I got nothing.
But I think if this were me the first thing I would do is see if I could undo what the PO did.
And start over with the repair.

Normally I would completely agree with you, but since that screw/nut (despite the way it's angled) isn't causing any problems I just wanna fix the plastic retainer (not really sure what to call it) until I decide it's time to swap to the fancier door panels out of the parts Jeep.

This weekend I got around to JB welding the pieces back together. I put JB over top the plastic "nut" as well after taking that first pic. Can't say for sure that it worked yet but everything looks right.
