interchangable cylinder head?
No. The ports on the Renix head do not match up directly with the later intake and exhaust manifolds. As well as the throttle body and wiring for sensors will be different.

Well, I'll put it another way... it'll work but why would you when there's a plentiful supply of HO heads. Spend a few bucks and get the right head for the vehicle.

For clarificaton:
It will work, and quite easily I might add. I've done 2 of them. The intake ports ONLY are off slightly on the bottom, about 1/8". But I agree the HO heads are plentiful and unless you're getting the 89 head for free or something, I'd hunt down the right head.
