What years have the metal heat sheild on the intake under the fuel rail, and will any of them fit on my 2000, it has the tin foil looking stuff and it is falling apart, I called the dodge dealer and they said they can't get the kind it has, because it was a recall, and their is no part number.

 

I cant remember if they added that piece due to recall or removed it due to recall. In any case both of my 99s did not have them, and the 2000 model year marked the begining of a different head, so maybe they added it for 00-01 model years. Just speculation tho.

 

2000-01 only had it the dealer should be able to get the heat sheild materal one instead of the metal one , it is the sheild for #3 injector, also get this for all the injectors ( it slides over the injector you will have to cut to fit) the part# is 56028371aa.

 

They added it for 2000-01.No other years have it.

The first dealer I called, she could never find anything about it, but the secound one found it was a recall from the vin # and it was done in o3 on my jeep, but didn't have a part number for it, so I guess I will go to a auto parts store and buy some kind of heat sheild material and make one, but if I could get one of the metal ones like some other years jeeps have and trim it to fit I would rather do that so I wouldn't have to ever change it again. thanks
