Dash wiring changed, now no start
I have a interesting problem and not sure if it is related to me changing the dash wiring harness. I have a 1990 Cherokee with a 4.0l and manual trans. I just changed out the steering column, and wiring harness from a 89 Cherokee 4.0L and an auto trans. I have it all back together and of course there are some connectors not hooked up. The reason I changed it out is because the horn kept blowing when I turned, and the steering wheel was loose (bad bearing I guess) and the fuse block was toasted (previous owner fire maybe). So my Jeep will crank forever but will not fire up. So what is not hooked up or has a different plug from this dash harness that needs to trigger something or tell the computer to fire up? I have not checked if it is getting fuel or ignition because it ran perfectly fine before I changed it out. Fuses are all good. Everything is fine under the hood. So I am assuming it is something with the automatic versus manual wiring. Help. Snow is coming. LOL

"I have not checked if it is getting fuel or ignition"..
I would check if it is getting fuel and ignition. Do you hear the pump run for a few seconds when you turn the ign. on?

How does the crank sensor tie into the system on the renix? I am using a haynes manual and can;t figure out how it ties in. I assume to the computer. But it would hold back power to the coil I assume. I have 2 connectors by the coil, it has strong voltage 12+ on one yellow wire, and the other plug has only a yellow wire, and that reads 5.3. So not sure if those play a part.
