well.. set it in place above your regular air intake and see if you have any problems you can see... and also idk what style the wrangler carburetor is so idk about where it bolts up to the carburetor.. take it off it should be three torx screws and see it it will bolt up

also what kind of cai is it id say most likely no.. but you could make some mods to make it fit.. mine is just a cold air intake do it yourself kit from advance auto for 50 bucks you get what you see in my pics if you want to take a look.. i just used the stock rubber hose that goes into my carb and cut it off from the air box and only kept enough for that 90 degree angle.. stuck the pipe that the kit had into it and used one of the clamps the kit came with to tighten it on there good and then used a clamp to put the filter on which also came with the kit and eliminated my pvc hose completly by putting a breather on it and only have one vacuum line going into one of the pre drilled holes with the insert that also came with the kit.. all i had to do to make room was take out the stock air box.. i still am gonna make myself a heat shield so yeah if you wana do a little bit of rigging you could probably make it work but i dont think your gonna be lucky enough to get a perfect fit without having to modify it a little bit.. i would look at it first and if you get a good price and think you can do it id do it.

simply put, no.

the wrangler one goes over the valve cover to the passenger side.

but with some mods, you might be able to make it work... but not worth the hassle.

The wrangler 4.0 and XJ 4.0 are the exact same motor for each year they were made. That being said, it will fit your throttle body just fine and your motor will run with it just fine. The only fabrication you might have to do is to shorten the crossover the valvecover pipe that is required for the wrangler but, not the XJ.

If its a TJ the intake is on the other side of the engine bay. that being said if you swaped your battery to where your stock intake is now i MIGHT work. I dont think its worth it
