My dash lights are not working. My instrument panel is not illuminated when I turn on my headlights. I just bought this jeep so my first time driving it was tonight. The first thing I did was check my fuses. They seem fine! I have a 1990 Laredo btw.
I guess since the fuses are working, that means the bulbs behind the gauges are all bad. I just wanted to see if this was an issue someone else has had and get some input before I began to remove my panel and gauges. like, maybe it was caused by something else.

 

Did you try turning the headlight switch? Very unlikely ALL the bulbs are burned out but always possible

 

Does any of the dash lights work like the heater controls ?

Maybe the switch to turn the lights on is broken or has bad wires.

 

It sounds like it's time to start taking thing apart and test the dash light system .

 

Yes you can turn the dash lights off by twisting the headlight ****.

 

Does it have a cobbled up radio install?

 

Ahhhaha. I realized yesterday that the headlight **** rotates to control the dash lights. thanks everyone
