Default Instrument Cluster swap question

I've been doing the required research to put the more functional cluster in my 95 and understand that I have to replace both the oil and temp sending units. My question is which temp sending unit do I replace - the one on the t-stat housing or the one on the aft drivers side manifold? My guess on is for the electric fan and one is for the idiot light.

Thanks,

Geo

The one for your gauge is on the drivers side on the back of the head or the one you are referring to as being on the manifold. If you use a socket, be careful not to break the plastic plug on top. Good luck!

There is only one temperature sending unit and it's on the rear of the cylinder head. The one in the water neck is the water temp sensor. Both work in unison to provide water temp into to the gauge and the PCM. the PCM turns on the faux. an as needed.

I am not positive but I believe it is. I think it goes to the computer to adjust your fuel ratio and also your fan. I could be wrong but I believe that is what I heard.
