Instrument Cluster
Can you take an instrument cluster from a Cherokee sport and put it on a normal Cherokee? The reason im asking is that my Cherokee has no tachometer and I want the cluster from a sport that has the tach in it.
You could get an aftermaket tach. Dont think they are too expensive and pretty easy to install.

Yes you can do it. I have the most basic of the basic - the SE model. My cluster had no tach, no oil pressure gauge, no temp, no volt meter.
I went to the JY and bought a cluster and came back and popped it in and it works. Actually, I did have a problem at first, but I found out a ground wire had come loose in the engine bay. I connected it, and I now have it all working
From what I understand, pre 1992 is cable driven, 92-96 is electronic, and 97-01 is digital. Just make sure you get in the year range for yours and you'll be good. I paid like $20 for my cluster at the JY. All you need is a phillips and a phillips stubby. Take off the trim, unhook 2 harnesses in the back and it comes out.

Yes. You will need a cluster from a 97 or newer (digital odometer and trip) and the oil pressure sending unit and the temperature sending unit off of the donor vehicle. You CAN get replacement sending units from any auto parts store, but they tend to be pricy and they are an easy pull from the donor vehicle.
