Default Instrument Cluster for 1998

I saw a YouTube video that showed how to change the one with just speedometer and idiot lights to cluster with tach, and gauges. What is the last year of the ones with gauges so I can try and locate one? Thanks

your style jeeps only went from 97-01 but keep in mind you need to change the odometer miles to the new cluster to keep it accurate or else youll have the wrong miles.

no 96 is for the older style jeeps youre looking for 97+ jeep cherokees and in the future for that body style. Only a few parts work from the older parts but interior parts 97+ will only work.

The mileage is stored within the cluster for 97-01. Write it down before pulling the old cluster. If the new mileage is less than the old for next inspection, they may have some questions.

So some of the 1998-2001 models have gauges instead of idiot lights? Thanks

basically look for your body style jeep and if it has the gauges then swipe it it will all plug and play. Nothing from the older body style jeeps.

Save the bulbs from the old cluster, too. You never know if/when you will need a replacement.
