Getting ready to order the parts to install a trans cooler and temp guage. I will be going with a B&M trans cooler but I haven't decided on the guage yet. I'm looking at a GlowShift trans temp guage but I'm not sure how to mount the sender. This is what I would like help with.
Guage: http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/Tinte...ure-gauge.aspx
Cooler: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-70264/
EDIT: I'm also looking for a fairly priced thermal bypass valve. I can't seem to find any online.

I mounted the sender on one of the hard lines going from the transmission to the radiator. Do yourself a favor if you don't already have one and get a small pipe cutter and don't use a hack saw. There's debate as to which is best as far as return versus supply line, but in all honesty put it on either and get a baseline temperature. Then you'll know where you should be when towning, wheeling, etc. If you're hung up on which one, you could do a search on previous discussions on here and naxja and decide for yourself.

use compression fittings, and install it on the cooler line output of the trans. it will tel you the actual temp of the trans, not the trans fluid temp on the cooler output giving you a better reading.

I mounted one on my boss's Blazer and used one of the capped off pressure test ports on the transmission for the sender. Worked very well and never leaked.

I saw that on an online installation guide for these things. Does anybody know if the AW4 has these ports and what size thread they are?

I also saw this method online, but I avoid pulling the pan at all costs. Last time I pulled the pan to replace the filter I snapped one of the bolts for it off inside. It sealed up fine so I havemt touched it since in fear of bringing an old problem back to the surface.
