Seems like you're more concerned with price than quality. You can probably find a 10in sub for $20 if you look.

Not necessarily true, I'm concerned with both. I'm just wondering for $60 cheaper and seemingly good reviews, what peoples opinion on here is?

Not sure what you mean by putting the plastic panel over the the sub box. Do you mean you want to be able to build a box, stick a sub in it, and have it completely hidden behind the factory cubby space. As in, the space between the cubby and the outer sheet metal of the body so that it is completely and totally hidden?

I just replaced my 01 XJ speakers with Polk Audio DXi650 6.5" speakers all around and they sound great powered by the headunit amp. Fit with no mods to the door.

They were on sale for $40 a pair at Best Buy (shocked that Best Buy had lowest price on something).

To make it really easy, grab a set of speaker harness adapters to reuse the facory clips. These were what I needed for mine:
