Default Installing Reman Engine... Questions

Here is a list of things that I plan on replacing to add performance, anything else anyone thinks I may need?

Engine mounts
Oil Pan
Waterpump
Thermostat and Housing
Power steering pump
Radiator hoses
electric fan kit
coil
distributor cap and rotor
plug wires
neon injectors
S-belt

Plan on adding a throttle body spacer and cold air as well.

The alternator is newer.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

By add performance, I obv mean adding performance parts and staying away from OE if I can.

Get a bored throttle body. A guy sells em on here named thexjfiles. Check the for sale section. You'll get much better results out of that than a throttle body spacer.

99+ intake manifold, 703's, CAI, Headers, full hi flow 2.5 exhaust, ^x2 bored tb. That's about all you can do to a 4.0 as far as bolt on power. Question though, while the motor is out and if you can wait and have the funds, why not convert it into a 4.7 stroker?

forged pistons are only a little more expensive... and well worth it! i suggest porting the head. do not polish. that is a waste of money, its better to leave them a little rough because it makes more serface area and helps the fuel and air mix better. it made a huge improvement in flow. headers are a good idea. and 2.5 in exhaust.

bump compression by decking head or with the above mentioned pistons
(talk to the tech support at the company your buying pistons from. i used icon forged)

a comp cams Extreme 4X4 cam will add a lot of pep stroked or not.

and above all i suggest stroking the hell out of it

I got the engine from remanufactured.com. Still waiting to have it shipped. My current engine has 210k on it and has good oil pressure and no serious problems. What I plan on doing is stroking what I take out. That way I can take it slow and keep it easier on the wallet. I've already got a new radiator (champion), water pump (flowkooler), trip. fan conversion (offroadbound) and will be picking up some other things.

jeepstrokers.com is a very good resource for building a stroker, and all around mods to the 4.0
