I think Coopers are decent tires, I have a former boss that swears by them and buys nothing but...

Re-gearing is not needed (depending on what stock gearing he's running already) but definitely would improve acceleration. I'm assuming he's running a 4 liter?

I've been running my 33's on my tired 218K mi 4.0 for the past two and a half years spinning 3.55 gearing. I initially was going to re-gear but became undecided on whether or not to swap in new axles D44/D60. I was pleasantly surprised how well the torque of the 4.0 pushed my under-geared setup.

But I do agree w/ ya on the 31's or 32's w/ his setup.

I'm proud of you Drew. That Jeep looks great and you picked some fine rubber for it.

I guess you didn't have to live with your 235's for long. I've been living with mine for months! Your rig looks real nice though, and you are really making me want some 31's now. I need to go hide my wallet from myself now, thanks.
