Installed a 4.5" Rough Country lift on my '94 Xj. Before the Lift, I had a very slight binding in the front end while turning hard left but nothing too severe. Since the lift, I have lost almost 3/4 of my steering to the left unless I'm traveling at a decent speed. Turning left now results in binding very similiar to turning while in 4wd. The slower I'm moving, the harder it binds. I live on the top the Lehigh mountain and in order to pull out of my driveway I have to turn left and go down the hill. It could very well just be my imagination, but I feel the binding is much worse when turning left out of my driveway onto the down sloping street. If I turn left up hill it doesn't seem to buck as much but it is still present. What are your ideas as to the cause for this binding? Bad Ujoint in the axle? How can I check an axle Ujoint? In my experiences, it's difficult to tell if an axle Ujoint has play in it, or if it's just its' normal movement.
