Installed a 95 engine into my 93 and am having trouble
Got everything hookep up and couldn't get it to start. It will crank but won't fire up. changed cap and rotor. and found out after that no spark to coil. been reading it might be the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor but am not sure. need some help here guys.

I did
I did use most of the old wiring and I am having trouble locating the crankshaft positioning sensor. But from what I was told the engines should be compatable. and yeah I changed over the flex plate. the only wiring from the old engine I didn't use looked to be exactly the same as the new wiring. I can take pics if that would help. If I knew how to post em up here. And thanks for the help guys I have been beating my head against a wall for a minute over this.

At the back of the fuel rail towards the firwall you should see a connector, looks to see if there is a wiring harness leading to the the transmission bellhousing on drivers side. Thats where you'll find your CPS. Without this hooked up you'll experience a no spark symptom.
You may have pinched that harness when you mated the transmission... others have done it before.
Also, hopefully you had it removed when you installed the trans. It's possible to bust iot if it's left attached to bellhousing.

We have a negative impact ghost rider. Getting spark to the coil now. But still won't crank over. Was thinking about replacing distributor. Also I am not sure if the distributor system is the same for the 95 engine and the 93. Looked at cap and rotors and sure as **** they are different with different cap and rotors. So should I replace the 95 dis with the 93 dis and give her a try?

I'm having a brain fart here... can someone verify that 95 is still OBDI? IIRC 96 started OBDII?
DrillingD, if the donor motor is in fact OBDII you'll need to change the dist. Did the wiring harness plug ok into everything.. sensors, dist etc?
In the meantime, you can try swapping in fresh plugs, you may have fuel fouled the ones in the Jeep attempting to start.

Yes they do I put a 95 ZJ motor in my '92 and I bought all new ignition stuff and got it for a '92 on accident did not realize till I got done but I tried any way and it started and runs great. As for the flexplate and flywheel prob I don't know I have an Auto tranny and it work fine with the '95 flywheel. The biggest prob Ihad was with the wiring some of it looked the same on the '92 but would not work when conected to the '95 so Iwould have to cut and soilder stuff from the '95 harness to the '92 it was a PITA! '95 are not OBDII so that should not be a problem.
