injector swap
tomorrow morning im going to swap my injectors for the neon injectors i got from the jy...i know they are a direct swap but is there anything i need to do to the neon ones b4 i put them in the xj
p.s. i know that everyone says they have to be #703...the ones i have are #740....they are the same size and have the same exact plug ans my injectors in my xj. will the 740's work or do they have to be the 703's

Check the length of the 740s, they may be too short. You should also clean them out before installing them. I used brake cleaner to clean mine. I put a piece of fuel line on the rail side of the injector and filled the hose with brake cleaner, then I put voltage to the injector to open it up while blowing through the hose. Just don't inhale while doing this.

The 740's won't work correctly. They come from the same year Neons as the 703's and look exactly the same but are about a half inch shorter. There MIGHT be a way to get them to work but not by having the injector rail bolted down in it's original position.

if there is any difference..what is it? between a 4.0L H/O. and a 4.0L. I believe it is the injectors, or did they just stop puttin the High Out put Emblem on the xjs in the newer years.. i always wondered. but didnt know exactly

90 and older Jeeps had restrictive exhaust ports and some other little details, plus they had the Renix engine management system. The 91 and newer 4.0 engines have better flowing heads and Chrysler engine management. The difference in horsepower is about 20hp over the 90 and older non-HO engines.
