Default injector help!

I'm installing my 784 injectors as I'm typing this.
I have a couple questions that I need answers to asap.
1) the new 784 injectors came with orange caps? They don't seem to want to snap into place. Am I doing it right?
2) if the orange cap deal doesn't go where I'm trying to put it where does it go?
Anyone else deal with this before. If I'm doing this wrong please tell me.

thats the correct spot, an o ring goes on first, when installing push them into the fuel rail 1st, put some oil/vasoline or something on the oring so it doesnt tear. after all are install into the fuel rail with c clips in place, push the rail back on the intake and bolt it in, put everythign back together turn the car to run, with out starting it, check for leaks, no leaks, reset the computer then you are good to go!

the orange cap won't snap into place though. If it doesn't wont the injector leak?

I'm purty sure that nylon ring goes on before (under) the o-ring.
Did injectors come with that nylon ring off already?

00Pa - put the cap on as best you can, one side should sit on pretty easily, then press the injector up against the bottom of your shoe. the rubber sole gives enough cushion to not crack the cap, but it's firm enough to get the cap the "click" into place. it doesn't sit on there very deep so don't try to get it too low. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Default 703's

I have a question on the same note, I installed my 703's and the holes that the rail bolts to the manifold didn't line up when the injectors were in place. So I lifted the injectors out a bit till the holes lined up and bolted them down and I started my chero and it didnt leak. Has anybody else experienced this as well? As for the plastic caps, my 703's didnt come with them. regards

they should have had the caps that this guy is talking about, but yea after the injectors are installed in the rail and pushed into the intake your going to have to push the rail up or down til the holes line up and bolt it down. if you have no leaks then your fine just keep an eye on it

I'm late seeing this but if you still havent put the caps on don't worry. Those are the correct caps but the orange/tan ones are a real hard brittle plastic so if you try and force them on in most cases they will crack. The only way to keep this from happening is to heat them up good first with a heat gun or blow dryer (But don't melt them) I usually put the pintle caps down on a hard flat surface but on top of something softer and then push the injectors down onto the caps. Go straight down.

^^This is true. But I do heat them before shipping them so they shouldn't be too hard. That's why I suggested the show bottom method.

Thanks for the info, this cherokee forum has been the best when it comes to help and advice. Ive owned buggies and race cars and their forums were useless. regards
