I have a 98 XJ with dana M30 front & c 8.25 rear. I'm gettin ready to lift 6.5" w/RC kit also installin rear locker & possibly front locker(lock right both). but I wanna replace factory 231 w/teraflex low 231 HD t.case w/SYE but I need to know spline count. I read somewhere jeep went to 29 spline after like 96 but I'd like to be sure b4 I order. I just wanna be sure its not a 27 spline count cause if it is that might take $$$ for front locker.I just went to dealer & ran vin # but they didn't have info tellin spline count.

 

You are correct,, 91-96 is 27 spline
97-01 is 29 spline
