I have a 98 xj with factory infinity sound. I need to replace front speakers. I have searched this and it looks like i cannot just change out speakers. I do not have a problem with ditching the infinity all together. Do you have to delete factory amp? Change head unit(volume is broken anyway)? Can you buy tweeters to replace factory? Not a big audio nut and would like some knowledge on where to start. I do however want a quality sounding stereo without subs, not much room behind seats of a comanche. Thanks for your help!

yet? they have a great system that lets you see what you need. If you purchase from them they have great hook up kits that are included most of the time too. I dont see why you wouldnt be able to just replace speakers if you wanted to. Unfortunately with the tiny speakers we have, you really need more power for a nice sound system.

 

I have the Infinity system as well and recently posted in a thread about broken front door speakers where they show you how to repair the broken wires inside the rubber boot. I made a video of my speakers in action as well. Where did you find that it says replacement 5.25 speakers will not work just because you have the Infinity system?
