Default Improve steering

Hi,
Can anyone advise how to improve steering on my Cherokee XJ 4,0 Ltd year 1990. The steering wheel turns aprrox. 1 -1 1/2 inch to each side without the car responding the the steering command. Thanks

replace the steering box new tie rod ends

yeah you know wat i have the same problem, you have to be constantly jiggering it to keep it straight, i was told with alignment it my even it out a bit but not fix it.

sounds like your ends are bad or your steering is just loose/worn out, hit all the bushings with some grease.

and or new tie rod ends

x2 dont replace your steering box just yet. If you look down on the top of your steering box there will be a set screw with and nut that locks it down. Loosen that nut and just adjust the set screw a very little bit. Dont go to much with it but just turn it a little and then see if it helped.
