my bros 1992 cherokee did same thing. put new sensor in it. replaced the thermostat. steel ran a little hot and would overheat on the freeway. flushed the radiator and pulled the water pump off and found the person that put it on before we bought it screwed it up . they put a crap load of silacone on it and it was pluged up and not flowing right. now it runs a hair under the 210 before the fan comes on and cools down to 195. runs great on the freeway now.

My 2000 did this one time an it cleaned out the motor. It was a cracked head an I drove it a total of 30 mins after it overheated an parked it. When we finally tore it down a rod was getting ready to fly. These deffective heads are no joke. Check oil for extra fluid. That thought never crossed my mind till too late...

when i did my last oil change that stuff was black. no extra fluid not milky just a used black oil it was a little past due i hit it at 6000 but before that i was doing regular 3000 mile regardless if it needed it or not. and the heating problem started prolly about 2 oil changes prior to where im at now. ive pulled my dipstick and its a rich brown color as well as looking under the cap looks rather clean not much built up or anything very little sludge if any at all.
