alright thanks man, ill be doing a ton of research in the coming time.
heres another thing though while we are on the topic. Wouldnt it do this everytime? if im city driving its fine runs awesome no problems if its not heated up and i decide to hop on the freeway which is 2 seconds from my house im almost 7/10 times going to overheat if i get off the freeway and drive casually it will run fine just over 195, it rarely actually spikes over 210.

Yeah I would think it would overheat all the time on you. What is the hottest it has gotten up to? If it runs 210 thats no worries at all. I bet just about everyones Cherokee here does that.

well just before i replaced my coolant temp sensor it completely spiked out to 260 but there were no visible signs (smokes, sounds anything of that nature) and the check engine popped on stayed on i parked it immeadiately and began to troubleshoot it hooked it up to the od and it shot po118(engine coolant temp circuit) hence the reason i replace the sensor. right after the replace and the code wipe nothing was shooting and it was running alot better. my needle wouldnt barely reach 210 and as soon as it did the thermostat would open and you could watch the temp needle drop to 195 instantly at a normal speed.

I really wouldn't worry about it then. Running at 210 is normal for these.

I doubt it is your shroud that is causing the problem. That would cause more problems when you are city driving.

I would still just pressure test the radiator and see if the pressure drops just for a piece of mind.

My 88 did that. Took out the radiator and used CLR to flush it. After I was done no more problems. I soaked in CLR for about an hour then flushed it clean.

oh forsure im going to take a look at it tomorrow after work. 12 to 5 then i have saturday off. worse cause ill just have to go to the store and pick up a few little things but i have a pressure tester so thats going to be step one forsure. i honestly think hes got the pressure though. mainly because when its hot them hoses are extremely hard like almost to the point where you couldnt put anymore pressure on them not bulging or anything but just hard.

I drive it like I stole the damn thing. Circulation is perfect pressure is perfect. heats good. I did the block heater core and radiator flush at the same time. cost me about 30 bucks in CLR but I like to do things overkill style.
