Exclamation I'm still confused !!!

I'm still confused about using a Jeep to tow other cars or things!!! Many people say it's harmful for the diff. if you tow things ... and others say it's bad for the auto. transs.!!! Where is the truth?? Is it OK to tow other cars with an auto. transs. Jeep?

Anything bad will happen for the transs. and diffs. ??

Depends on how heavy your talkin about ...a 91 geo metro on a dolly your good. An f350 on a car trailer not good and probly not legal. Check the owners manual for load capacity and trailer capacity and don't exceed that. As far as diffs burning up, our jeeps don't put out nearly enough torque to generate that much gear heat, but if the tounge weight is way high you can torch a rear wheel bearing. Auto tranny and towing is always a gamble. But common sense is your friend, if you question the possibility of aload being to much then don't pull it.
