Well if you get it back and you still have the DW take a good look under the front end. If the track bar moves in any way other then how it is supposed to replace it. If any bushings have play replace them. The xj is just marginally stable at best and any free movement or play sends your jeep into the DW.
I took my xj to 3 repair shops and had them look at all of the components and after all three told me I was crazy or that I should just start replacing parts I took it into my own hands. I bent my tierod shaft so I replaced it with the Rusty's HD tierod. Then I took it to my girlfriends dads house and he did something all of the shops didn't. He kept it on the ground and had me turn the steering wheel 1/4 turns both directions and found play in my trackbar. I looked an sure enough there was a small amount of play. This next payday i'm ordering a new one.
Heres a cheap service grade trackbar. look under suspension. $40

correct me if i'm wrong but the only special tool you would need would be a tie rod separator, there about $5-$10.

CONCLUSION! ok so 2 months and 7 shops later I yes I crawl under my jeep and look at it and the sway bar braket was bent and the screw was missing and the bushing was broke. I havnt taken it on the highway yet but im almost 100% sure that was the reason. so its all fixed
