Red Fang. Since you havent been back to this thread I am hoping that your jeep is up and running well. I dont know which ground was fixed at the dealer, but cherokees are known for grounding issues. The one that I am not sure that was checked is the ground to the fuel pump. I dont know if the 96 is the same, but the older cherokees have the ground for the fuel pump behind the panel thats behind the spare tire. Its a known point that should be cleaned and inspected. Just thought I would drop this on the thread in case your problems return.

Oh man this email notification was a blast from the past. The jeep ran fine for a few more months but then just died one morning and I couldn't get it up and running. I needed a ride to work, so I ended up getting a basic sedan. After 3 months of troubleshooting I ended up selling it to a friend who frankenstiened his XJ and my XJ together as mine had less rust than his.

This was spring 2011, and I haven't had a 4x4 since then. I'll probably get an offroader sometime in the distant future when I'm not needed it for a daily driver.
