So I have a 1995 sport 4 liter my problem is I went to drive it started drove 50 feet then died. I turned it off and pulled the key, it was so hot it burnt an impression of the key into my finger. Obviously a short . The key turns,lights stereo come on, but engine doesn't turn over. Tried to arc the starter and it spins but doesn't start. Ignition switch? It has a new battery and new starter. need an inexpensive fix, haven't worked in a while.

You should disconect ur battery or get some marshmellows Most likely ur ing. switch is worn out

Well if need.to get a key made all I have to do is use my finger so I've got that going for me.

What did you ever figure out with your ignition? I had the exact same thing happen with my 95' sport yesterday. You couldn't heat a key that fast with a torch!
