Ignition Control Module Wiring Diagram
Hi All
My Cherokee went for a swim and due to dodgy wiring the ICM got fried - an even dodgier bush mechanic then messed around for an hour or so with the wiring, cutting things here and swapping things there. He still couldnt get any spark.
So now, I have found a replacement ICM (original part number EF-8953005079) but dont want to just plug it in without checking the wiring first - does anyone have a wiring diagram for this?
The car is a 2.5 liter petrol, 4 cylinder carburetor engine.
Thanks for any help!

This Jeep is a Beijing Jeep Corporation build - It was a deal between the Chinese Govt and AMC back in the late 80's, where AMC got access to the Chinese market, and China got access to AMC technology. BDK's (broken down kits) were sent from USA to Beijing and assembled there.
This is one such gem - The VIN number doesnt even show up in the Daimler-Chrysler Dealer connect system, because it was built in China and they had their own system.
It is a 1994, and it has a carburetor. Unless that thing with the butterfly valves spraying petrol around has something to do with air-conditioning. Who knows?
The engine is a 2.5l 4 cylinder AMC block.
The problem, and the question however, remains the same - that being does anyone have a wiring diagram for this?

Googled the part number and found it was the Motorcraft ICM that AMC stuck in just about everything from Eagles to Wranglers, then used google images to find the bottom drawings. The top one I had stashed.
Now I'm curious- you have a Chinese market XJ? Since it still has a carb- does it have any emissions equipment? What other differences from the US version are there?

It could still be fuel injected, just throttle body instead of port injectors. That would explain the "butterfly valves spraying petrol around".
BTW, I thought the 2.5 engine was supplied by GM, same as the 2.8 V6 in the early XJ?
