Is there any way on a 2001 to adjust the idle speed down? I feel like it is just a bit too high, and when I shift out of Park it is kind of too much for it.
I know there are different sensors to clean, etc - it isn't overly high, just a little bit. Thanks for the input.

Try cleaning the throttle body first, I was running around 1000rpm until I cleaned it and the dropped it down to 800rpm. It just gets enough junk in it over time that the butterfly won't close properly

^^^ That was what I was going to say... Just use some good Throttle body cleaner to make life easier. Also try cleaning your IAC motor, jeeps tend to get bad carbon buildup on them. my 98 was idling at 1200 and every time you nailed the gas, she would hiccup and then get going.
Cleaning the IAC, and the throttle body eliminated all those problems. now she idles at 550 RPM and has great throttle response. cost me only a rag and carb cleaner.

Ok I'll give it a shot. It seemed like once I did the PCM reset (I had to put a new battery in, so I grounded the pcm) it idled lower, now it seems to have gone back up. Is there any way to actually lower it like on a carb or no?
Cleaning is my first step though..

Well it's efi, so a computer is telling it to rev higher. So that computer either needs to be reprogrammed or just replaced. This sounds like a TPS or IAC issue. I'd say a can of sea foam and a buddy. Disconnect the large vac line from (I forget which) cylinder into the manifold. Get the afore mentioned buddy to keep revs at ~3k rpm. And slowly pour half the bottle in. I believe there are some more instructions about going for a spirited drive but you got the idea...
Edit- if that doesn't do it, then disconnect the sensors, unbolt the TB, disconnect the sensors and spray the TB liberally with TB cleaner, wipe off thoroughly and reinstall.
Idk....

You might also check for vacuum leaks. I go around with short little bursts of starting fluid, the engine sound will change if you hit one. I mistook a leaking injector O ring for a leaking intake gasket doing that Btw. Found the bad O ring while changing the gasket.
Not all bad, it was leaking exhaust at the rear so it need attention anyway.
