Default Idle jump after putting in Park

Anyone ever have an idle jump to around 1200RPM after putting it in Park? It's not EVERY time, but maybe 1 in 7-ish.

If yes, were you able to fix it? How?

If no, any ideas?

Thank you!

Pull the codes, you may have a dirty MAP sensor and yeah mine does it too. I usually throw in a bottle of seafoam and a tank of premium gas then it goes away for a while.

After putting it in park and getting a high idle condition remove the intake tube and occlude the IAC bypass with a thumb (use 2 if needed). The idle should decrease and run rough or stall. If it doesnt change at all or it returns to the normal idle range you have air entering the system beyond what the IAC can control.

My idle issues were always related to the IAC idle air control sensor. I got life time warranty on that part when I first bought i 5 years ago so when idle gets weird I just replace it with a new one for free. I have never bothered to test the old ones but once replaced with new always solves my idle issues.

No matter what you've heard, premium-grade gasoline won't do more to clean deposits from your fuel injectors or other parts of the fuel system because today's regular gas contains the same detergent additives. The main difference with premium is its octane rating — 91 or higher compared with 87 for regular octane.
