The other day, I stalled my 89 Cherokee Laredo. When I started it back up, it was idling at 3,000 RPMs. I pulled over and checked the throttle cable and vaccum lines, nothing seemed to do anything. I shut it off and when I started it back up, it was idling fine. But ever since then it has been doing some weird things. Sometimes (not all the time) when coming to a stop and put the clutch in, the truck will go to about 100 RPMs, it has stalled once, and then other times, it will idle at from 1400-1800 RPMs. I'm at a lost right now. Air filter and fuel filter only have 500 miles on them. Any help or ideas would be great.

Also, I have checked the battery and cables, and when it starts to idle weird, I've looked at the battery gauge, and it wasn't doing anything funky.

 

Remove and clean the throttle body and components be sure to clean the IAC well. Reinstall. If you still have this problem, replace the IAC.
