Ill keep this short. Lent my Yeep out on Relay Rides, the renters of my Yeep called the next day informing me the Yeep needed a new battery and they would be purchasing me a new a Optima... SWEET. Got the Yeep back and t has all new + and - cables. The Connector to the Delco Remy Alternator has been cut and wired all fuggered. I read the diagram but honestly I am almost blind and very dyslexic. I know that the harness and wires shown in the picture most likely went to the field sensing and idiot light connector on the ALT. Can I have an idiots step by step how to hook everything back up so the ALT actually charges. I have the Starter Control thingy mounted on the Pass/Side. 86 Cherokee 2.5
I'm not at all familiar with what came stock that year.
Do you have an internal regulator? 12SI alternator? Or is there an outboard regulator?
Does that 4-wire weatherpak connector go to your alternator?
The three-wire (12SI) has a large red wire on a separate stud that goes to the battery terminal on the starter relay, a smaller red (on the plug) that goes to a +12V source for voltage sense and a white (on the plug) that goes to the dashboard gen light.

The Delco Remy 12SI is what came stock and it is what I have now brand new, tried two of them just to make sure it was not the alternator. I don't think I have a external V.Reg as the PCM handles that? Here is a picture of what my ALT and tell me if this is the correct way to wire it up?
